Who: Anyone who wants to come!
What: Autumn (Equinox) Celebration
When: Today, at 9PM to Midnight (and maybe even after)
Where: Around the Rec Center
Summary: Brigade party! There's food! There's lights! There's music! There's fireworks!
Rating: A for Abacus
There were lights! Autumn-appropriate decorations! There were tables of food (though very little of it is vegetarian friendly)! There was even a stage for music and entertainment! Still waiting was the fireworks to take place at midnight, but otherwise things were set up to more or less respectable Brigade standards. Maybe Haruhi hadn't done it herself, but it was done well enough, thanks to the efforts of being coordinated by Mikage.
The stage was left open for anyone to perform that wanted to. The karaoke machine had been dragged outside for people to sing along to, regardless of talent, or otherwise just to play music when no one was on stage. Naturally inside the Rec Center itself is a variety of pool tables, foosball, air hockey, and a TV with some video games. Just enough to keep things a little fun. If only there was a pool.

She tentatively enters the rec center and looks around, nervous but hoping to make a good impression. Maybe this basket of goodies that she brought will help people to like her. Maybe she'll see a familiar face.

Good question, because she's probably not entirely sure herself. Perhaps she heard that there would be fireworks and she's feeling nostalgic in a weird way, or maybe it's... something else?
In any case, yep, there she is, wearing a new white jacket and with her long pink hair lazily braided over one should. She's pretty much keeping to herself, of course... but watching the pool tables inside the rec center - and whoever happens to approach them - with a particularly sharp eye, too. ]

He'd found the pool tables by happy chance. They were something familiar and he would gladly latch onto that.
At Lightning he smiled politely, hands in pockets and wings folded he nodded at the tables.]

Or maybe he'll see a friendly face and force himself to have a real conversation. He hasn't had many of those lately. Time will tell.]

Mac isn't sure what the gathering is about, but it seems kind of interesting... better than hanging out in his room, at any rate. There are a lot of people mingling, many of whom he doesn't recognize, but they seem to be a lively bunch and- - oh MAN, they had hot dogs!
As if on cue, his stomach growls at him like a temperamental dog. Gee, he can't remember being invited to this party, though, and it wouldn't be right to snatch up something and run...]

But he hears a sound he knows well and glances over his shoulder. A quick once over and he chuckles.]
Hungry? [It's friendly enough, a smile accompanying the words, and a small gesture to the oh-so-close refreshment table.
He's essentially crashing the party himself, since he has no idea who's throwing it or what it's being thrown for... But keeping Guy Burgess away from a party is hard work, and Anthony felt it wasn't worth the fight.
So who he is to discourage someone else from joining in?]

Of course happening across a party by chance has a few downsides. For one she was just heading back from the library with a number of books. So many books in fact that it's very difficult for her to see ahead of herself.
Feel free to say hello to bookstore, or perhaps have a couple of books dropped on you as she walks into you. Expect flailing and lots of apologies.]

The odd assortment of games aside, festivals like this are much easier to get down with than the others Jet has seen. Lucetiland was fun and all, but this is much more homely. Besides, It's not like traveling minstrels brought music to the woods all
much. The music, while foreign, is a nice distraction for once.Another perk to music? Volume- Maybe it'll drown out any other ridiculous nonsense his mouth will decide to spew out today.]

He meanders over into the Rec Center where the pool tables are, a lit cigarette perched between his lips.
Discovery of the shops had at least granted him something to wear besides those white trousers, even if the only suits he seemed to find were too large by a long shot. The brown trousers are folding over themselves in a crumple atop his stockinged feet, the sleeves of the blue button down shirt rolled up so they at least cling to his arms. Half of it is tucked in, exposing the cinch of the belt that keeps the pants from falling off completely.
A mop of sagging clothes and cigarette smoke haze, brown tousled curls and pouted lips, he hovers over the pool tables with an oversized jacket on his arm and a smirk only just tugging at his lips.
If you come close enough, he smells like he's wearing gin for a cologne.]

But it's good to have a nice party as a distraction. When she's not singing she'll be scoping out the food tables since that looks pretty good. There's not really much else to do but hang around and watch other people.]
no subject
[After Mimi finishes singing one of her songs, Azusa can be found clapping for her. Not only is Mimi's singing good, but she's also adorable. Both of those are winning points in the idol's book.]
no subject
Soon, she'd step back in.... maybe ask someone to show her how the video games worked or try to cajole Archie into singing (not that she predicted success in that venue). And she'd definitely stay to watch the fireworks. But for this moment, at least, she nurses a (mostly untouched) drink and just enjoys the atmosphere itself.
Dwarfed in clothes that look much too big for her slight frame, and already overshadowed by a mostly taller crowd, she might be easy to miss...but she's alright with that. When she's ready, she's sure she'll be able to move back into the action without missing a step]
no subject
The music from the stage might be ill-practised, but it's music nonetheless, and that's a comfort. So is the food, strange as it all seems to him, and the large groups of people. Many people, much conversation, and the chance to slip about nigh unseen and listen, engage where he saw it appropriate.
Yes, it was this sort of environment in which Stephen Maturin-- for reasons completely different than those of the man he'd come with-- was quite at home in this party.]

A bit late here, sob...
more or lessand a party maniac, Kazooie is most definitely living it up at this party. Who cares if the food isn't vegetarian-friendly? Kazooie is eating it! And there is a good chance she'll grace (and by grace one means horrify) the villagers present at the party with a song. After all, she is a bird.... She doesn't have much of a singing voice, though.
She can also be found trying out the sports much like they're minigames, timing herself to get a certain number of points in a certain amount of time - don't be surprised if she expresses frustration for failing these self-set challenges - or in general hovering around bothering people.]
