Of course it wasn't. If he wasn't errored... well. That had to hurt.

[AND THEN WE TALKED ABOUT A THREAD WE HAVEN'T THREADED YET-- I mean, what.]

...well, it didn't feel good.

[No, it was. One of the most horrible things ever, actually. And that's pretty high up there, for Katara. But she shakes her head. That wasn't really 'her' - she had the memories of her alternate's pain, but it wasn't 'her' pain.]

But he had to see me still being in love with him when he knows that I'm... not, really. And that it wasn't really him. And we'd [her voice lowers] shared a fruit in February.

[Haruhi is so. So. so. Sorely tempted to reject that and talk about Katara's own pain because she cares about that way, way more than she does some random guy. But... she nods, slowly, trying to keep a sympathetic (which to be fair isn't that hard) look on her face]

So... that happened. And then he went off for a little bit. And now I just... need to figure out what to do. Before he gets back.

Huh... [She considers, her lips now folding up into a duck pout] ...So what are you feeling about all this?

What am I feeling?

There are a half a dozen things that she knows she should say.

And one of the reasons why she gave into this impulse was so... if someone asked her that... she wouldn't have to.]

Like I just want it all to stop.

[Her eyes fill up with tears.]

Like there's nothing I can do that's right.

...I understand wanting it to stop. [She sort of understands the second part too. But oh man, the girl's crying. Haruhi lowers her gaze just a bit out of respect and looks around the room. Ah, there is was. She stands from her chair to go collect the tissue box from the desk and set it on the little table between them]

[Katara takes a tissue and wipes at her eyes.

She hates this, but what good does that do?

...and I think I'm a little messed up too. I don't know if it's just - all the time we spent together, or if I just... feel really bad for him, but... it's not the same anymore. It's not as clear.

[...she twists her tissue in her hands.

[She's of the mind tea fixes all things, at least a little]

[But she doesn't stand up.]

Katara, relax there- I won't be a minute.

[And she kicks her legs before getting up to go out to the front room again where she had some tea up on the thing there. Normally, it would be in the back room, but she's the only one here right now]

She's so tired.

She pulls her knees up to her chest and rests her head against them.

She really should go.]

[You know it sucks this is her tea and not Mikuru's. Not that she's bad by any measure - Haruhi's a prodigy at almost everything she tries - but it's not quite as pleasant as Mikuru always pulled it off to me. She's going to miss that the most about the girl. There's a little sigh before he collects up a pitch, two cups, and then puts both on a small tray to carry it back into the private room and set it on the table between them, quietly]

[A dismissive handwave before she sits herself and pours some for both her and Katara]

Katara reaches out to take her cup of tea.

She'll just drink this, and then go.]

[and Haruhi in turn will sip from her own cup, leaning back in her chair. She keeps consistent eye contact with Katara. She said she didn't want to talk, so pressing would be rude, but...

Nngh]

[...it may be harder to keep in eye contact with Katara when her gaze drops to contemplate her tea cup as though the contents hold the meaning of life.]

[...Okay she really can't handle this. Inhale, exhale. Lightly-] ...You've got more to say.

Mm, if you say so. But I think you do.

There isn't anything else to say.

[Except, clearly, there is everything in the world weighing on her, or else she wouldn't still be sitting there.]
