EVENT LOG: SCAVENGER HUNT

Who: All you scavenger hunters!
What: Scavenging and other fantabulousness, I suppose.
When: November 24th to 28th
Where: The whole village! And yet also all over time and space...

Rating: P for Points! (Keep it PGish, folks. Anything worthy of a higher rating can be brought to your appointments posts.)

As announced by CJ, the village's immediate environs are divided up according to this map. There are five areas: the Nile, Ice Age, Space Opera, Shogunate, and Gangland. Time-and-place appropriate architecture and conjured up NPCs exist in each area.

Don't forget the scavenger hunt! While actually finding things is ultimatly optional, you can find more information on the hunt here. If you want to claim a reward from the hunt, be sure to link at least two related threads on the new rewards claims post.

Finally, here's a quick rundown of the objects:
- In THE NILE: A ceremonial dagger and a piece of Pharoah's treasure
- In GANGLAND: A tommy gun and a set of car keys
- In ICE AGE: A bone spear and a smilodon's tooth
- In SPACE OPERA: a raygun and part of a robot
- In SHOGUNATE: a samurai sword and water from a kappa's head

[Vanellope was a little bit in love with the costume she woke up in. The set of guns at her bedside made things even better. And then there was the manner of winning that game for some points - something she could definitely understand! She could care less about the points, but she was definitely playing to win!

So, the succeeding days have her glitching all around Luceti, intent on collecting all the items on that list. She isn't above going about that sneakily, though. Even with Ralph as her muscle, some of the items are pretty hard to get by, so there will be some sweet talking, some stealing and glitching away faster than you can blink. It's hard to be intimidating when you're adorable, okay.]

[ buffy summers might be taking the blessed opportunity provided by her house being in the nile. after all -- she wants to work on her tan, since it's been fading away in the shoulder season. she's stretched out on a towel, although stuck in an inconvenient dress. ah well. what else is there to do?

her eyes are closed and she might have drifted off to sleep. do try not to step on her. ]

day 2

[Vanellope makes no promises! It's only Day Two of the Hunt, so she's still all fired up and ready to do all the things to win. So, despite the initial surprise at her costume change once she steps into the Nile ("What's all this toilet paper doing hanging from my body!!") she's rather literally running across the sand. At least she's pretty tiny, she doesn't seem to be kicking up too much dust...!]

[ just clear your mind, summers. let the awful things melt away. will them out of existence. try to ignore the sudden heel-to-the-gut when a tiny gal suddenly tries to use you as a run way.

the slayer sputters -- coughs -- and props herself up on her elbows. ] C-can't a lady soak in the sunrays in peace these d--

[ oh. a kid. a cute-ish kid, really. all mummified but not in a gross way. buffy clears her throat and tries again. ] I mean...hi.

[Okay so why is the sand sputtering and coughing - Vanellope skids to a stop and turns around... Oh, there's a lady where there was sand earlier, wow.]

Sorry, lady! Didn't see ya there! I got treasure to find, and time's a-wastin'!

[Well Crow managed to steal just score some car keys off someone here in Gangland after acquiring one or two other things elsewhere...the only problem is that we have no idea what car keys are exactly--he sort of took them simply because they were shiny, but at the moment he's just sitting here and twirling the keys around his fingers.]

What do these keys even go to anyway...

[Maybe you'd like to try getting the keys or any of the other items he's picked up so far for the scavenger hunt off this kid, since it's sort of obvious he doesn't even know what they're used for?]

[Who knows where Ralph is right now, probably getting a tommy gun or two for their list since it's pretty likely she was told off after trying to use her candy guns on them.

Obviously that left the duty (ha! duty.) of acquiring a set of keys to her. What she does with them after, well, we'll just have to see.

She spies the kid twirling a shiny set of keys in his hand almost too soon. Welp, target sighted! She glitches over to the hood of the nearest, unattended car where he can see her.]

Maybe you should find out!

[Huh? Crow stares at the kid standing on the hood of the car near us. Who is this girl...though admittedly she must be pretty stealthy if he hadn't heard or noticed her there until just now, as he stops twirling the keys in his hand momentarily.]

And just who are you supposed to be?

[sugarglitch]

Name's Vanellope, see? [Best imitation of an accent as she can muster.] An' you've got somethin' I'm lookin' for!

day 5 ice age? :D

[Well. It's not every day you see a dog guy wrapped in furs. Nor do you often see one booking it across the ice and snow, being chased by gangsters, cavemen, and astronauts. Maybe he made a last-ditch attempt at snagging the remaining items; there's a bag strapped to him, as well as a large bony sword-thing. In any case, one thing's clear - he's in trouble.]

H-heeeeelllp!

GET BACK HERE, YA MUTT! [...yells a gangster, as he tries to reload his tommy gun. One of the astronauts backs him up with ray-gun fire, but thankfully some fancy footwork helps keep his tail unroasted. Still, it's looking like his plans may have gone to the dogs... but then he spots Vanellope.]

Hey, kid! Lend a paw? [It's probably a safe bet that someone that young wouldn't be out here unless they could do something awesome... he hopes.]

[An anthromorphic dog running away from a whole buncha angry guys - not that uncommon of a sight back home at Game Central, really! Still, it's an impressive one that has her dashing out of the way in the interest of self-preservation, but near enough that she can still keep track of what's going on curiously... That is, until the weird dog guy calls for her help. Huh.

She glitches herself so she's perched on a rock ahead of him, then waves her hands in his direction while he runs past!]

Sorry, Dogbreath! Don't got a paws! Human, see?

You know what I meant-- YEEEEEEOW!

[Seems like they got that tommy gun reloaded. Thankfully, he only took a grazing shot to the side, but it still hurts like hell. It doesn't look like the mob's going to paws pause, either; Red doubles back around that rock, yanking the bone-sword off his back and aiming it at the closest caveman, and then - ZAP! The poor guy doubles over, stunned from the electric shock, and Red books it again.]

Kid! Do that thing again, but take me with you! [Please please tell him you can actually do that, Vanellope...]

day 5 ice age

[So sometimes people getting in pain is funny... But when real bullets are involved, it's just kind of scary. She yelps and jumps out of the way, instinctively glitching in place when they come under fire -]

Okay, okay, but you owe me Muttface! [Quickly quickly grabbing his paw and squeezing her eyes shut and teleporting - first behind the mob, then a few feet away, then one last time, appearing behind another huge rock in a flurry of pixels.]

[It's hard to be intimidating, also, when other ninja are chasing you around. When Vanellope hops through the Shogunate, this scene is there to unfold before her:

Sheena in her Edo best being corralled by a group of NPC ninja. In the black pajamas. They're after the vials of water she's carrying, but she only looks cornered for a second or two.

She came prepared! And loses the bulky outer kimono for a set of ninja duds of her own, intending to outmaneuver them enough to get away.

Could use some distractions though. She doesn't see Vanellope nearby and doesn't want to just start beating up on the guys because they were kind of asked not to. So there could be some kappa water in it for her if she decides to be adorable out loud.]

[sugarglitch]

[WOAH did that lady just tear off her clothes into something awesome. Attention diverted from stalking a kappa to stalking the ninja lady instead, Vanellope starts hopping across roofs herself, a route that runs vaguely parallel along Sheena's and near enough that if she yelled, she could probably be heard.]

So whatcha do to get these guys so mad at you, huh?

[corrinesbell]

[Then she almost falls off the roof because a small child is up there talking to her. On an adjacent roof.]

Whoa- [Righting herself just in time, she ducks a motion from one of the enemy ninja and backflips over another, skidding halfway down said roof before coming to a stop.]

Nothing! They're after my water I think. Look, it's dangerous and you shouldn't- [Nope time to duck again.]

[As Emil's house is currently in the Nile, he's been spending a lot of time in that area. Sure, he's been doing some scavenging, but he's mostly just seeing what the Malnosso had done to the place for the duration of this experiment.

He's seen a lot of strange things so far, like that cat riding alligators. But a mummy? Yeah, he may be freaking out just a little bit.]

W-whoa! Stay away from me... y-you can't have any of my prizes!

[sugarglitch]

[Vanellope had been minding her own business (sort of; she was stalking a few priests trying to figure out how to get one of their spears) when Emil's outburst catches her attention.]

Wow, rude much! I wasn't trying to get your prizes! [... Which implies trying to get prizes from someone else! Anyway, she frowns.] Unless you're offerin', anyway.

... wait, you can talk? I thought mummies were only supposed to be able to make groaning noises and stuff.

[Okay, that's... marginally less freaky, but he's still wary here. This one doesn't sound like it wants to eat his brains or whatever it is that mummies do.]

I don't really have anything to offer yet. A lot of the prizes sound like they'd be pretty dangerous to get.

[gleamed]

[Rapunzel is in the Space Opera land, trying to negotiate a ray gun out of some aliens while wearing relatively boring purple jump suit. They're nice enough fellows, but they're unwilling to hand over the gun, and Rapunzel doesn't have much in the way of bargaining chips at them moment.

But an odd movement catches at the corner of her eye - was that...]

Oh - hey, Vanellope!

[sugarglitch]

[What a coincidence, Vanellope needed a ray gun herself! As a rule, Ralph was supposed to try and get the more dangerous items on the list, but hey, Vanellope lived dangerously! Or so she told herself. Anyway, coming onto Space Oera land let her keep the guns she woke up with in Gangland, so it wasn't like she was literally unarmed...]

Heya, Goldilocks! Someone's pretty popular today!

[gleamed]

[Popular was one way to put it. She smiles pleasantly at the three aliens she's been conversing with and pardons herself, jogging over to Vanellope.]

Are you working on the scavenger hunt, too?

[Luna is actually have a decently easy time in the Shogunate. A samurai mistook her for someone else and left his sword to her. All she needs is to find a Kappa...but where does she look for one of those?]

Excuse me, you haven't seen a Kappa anywhere have you?

[She doesn't even know what that is! ... Not that this girl needs to know that. Vanellope instead mocks an utterly serious nod.]

Yeah, I have. There was a whole bunch over there - [She points at Community Housing 5, now turned into an imperial palace crawling with samurai guard.] Not exactly the easiest of places to get into! Maybe you'll have better luck with that than me!

[Luna looks over to the imperial palace before looking down at Vanellope.]

Oh, thank you so much. I've been looking for them for a while now. Maybe they'll let me in if I ask really nicely...
