[Naoki opens his eyes slightly in confusion when another question isn't asked, looking at him sleepily. And then, sincerely,]

I love moments like this. [A soft sigh.] I treasure them all...

Guess that means we're both not allowed to forget, huh? [He reaches over to cover Naoki's eyes, attempting to get him to sleep.] Just remember it like this.

...if you ever forget, I'll punch you. [Naoki murmurs as his eyes are covered, lifting a hand to rest over Ted's briefly.] Okay. I will.

I can feel your love a mile away. [Light sarcasm, heavy fondness.]

Damn right you can. [And he laughs softly.]

Guess I should feel flattered, or special. But then I don't know how flattering a black eye would be no matter the intention.

Well, hey. You'd be reminded of my love every time you look in the mirror. [He dissolves into helpless laughter, low and drowsy though it might be.]

Guess I would be. I'd decorate it with a nice eyepatch too, maybe sign it with "Naoki was here." [He doesn't let go yet, still keeping Naoki's eyes closed, because he didn't want him to see Ted like this, just the one time he truly lets go and lets things in since he came to Luceti.]

Let everyone know... [Naoki breathes a sleepily content sound. He doesn't mind his eyes being kept shut, even though he wants to look at him. But there's physical contact and he's mollified by it.]

You sure your only future dream is to fly? [He asks curiously, tentatively lifting his hand off now.]

I have...a lot of things I want for the future, I think. [He blinks his eyes open.] Keep everyone safe, together...happy.

If it's you, I'm sure you can make people happy. [He draws a knee up and rests his chin on it, grinning.]

...I think I might, if you've got that confidence in me.

... You know I do.

Then I'll do my best. [Naoki smiles at him. Funny how Ted always makes him want to do the best he can.]

You better. [He nods sagely, or sleepily if you look at it from another point of view.]

[Yawn.] Always. [T...tucking himself a little closer.]

[Reaching over to brush at Naoki's hair.]

[He sleepily turns into the touch.] Y'know, Ted...I... [So tired...] Really... [...

...Zzzz.]

[... Blink. He smiles at that, grabbing his own blanket and wrapping it around himself as he waits for the sun to come up. Sweet dreams, Naoki.]

[Naoki will start sleepily blinking open his eyes once day rolls around--snowing outside the window like it was yesterday. And he's groggily confused, wondering where he is and why...

...

Oh yeah. He smiles and shuts his eyes again, pulling the blankets up to his chin.]

[Ted, on the other hand, had dozed off to the point that he's toppled over, sleeping on his side and snoring softly, more tired than he'd admit. He likes sleeping, but more than that, it was a cold day, and sleep is something that tends to creep up on him while he thinks.]

[Naoki opens his eyes again as he hears those snores, studying his face for a moment. Then he grins quietly and shifts off of the mattress while taking special care not to rouse him. Maybe he'll make breakfast for the both of them. Give Ted a pleasant surprise...or something.]

[Well, Ted wouldn't mind breakfast. He shifts a little at the moment, burying his head deeper under the blankets and muttering something suspiciously close to "Five more minutes, Gremio..." but otherwise doesn't wake up just yet.]

[...so lazy. Like he didn't know that already, but still. Naoki blinks in amusement and moves to cover him with the blanket he just abandoned--it's warm thanks to his body heat, so all the better for Ted--and heads on out to the kitchen to start on breakfast.]
