[Mercury may be fighting nausea, but she fights the good fight. She has something to focus on, and mind over matter has always been far more than a motto for her.

Her blue skin, on the hand, elicits no more than a private, wry smile to herself, once it seems to carry no other effects with it.

Right now, true to her word earlier, she is setting up a makeshift medical station and laying out a few basic supplies. Help out? Ask for help?]

Defensive Post (Sokka) + a little bit of anywhere. Any day

[Vash will be keeping himself busy. He’s going to try and behave himself, sticking with the defensive group and making sure the ones who can’t fight or are busy giving medical attention are well protected. Quickly taking out any Third Party member that foolishly thinks of coming nearby those he considers under his protection. His aim is cool, calm, and deadly precise. That of course would be if he was aiming for killing blows.

Instead Vash targets for the legs, arms, and ONE of their wings. He’s insanely fast. Able to shoot off four rounds if he must, but your character will only hear one or two of the shots. While medics may tend to those one their side, Vash will be taking his small med kit and doing what he can to stop the bleeding of any third party members in dire need of healing.

Yes, that may mean stopping you from your bad ass finishing move.

Of course. He can’t just leave them laying around on the battlefield. That’s just asking for more trouble. During lulls in action Vash will be taking still living Third Party Members and moving them away from the group. Hopefully the rope he’s brought with him will at least slow them down from trying to get back up.

Any time that isn’t spent fighting and taking care of Third Party Members, Vash is going to be rather restless. Even if he can’t see them he knows there are people dying out there. He should be doing something! When he’s sure that the defensive group has enough cover he may be venturing out on his own. Trying to protect any one he can or pick off any Third Party member he may find.]

[Bernkastel is easy taking care of any soldiers that come near her, slashing her scythe and letting her cats chew on their flesh once she's disabled them.

But, when she notices Vash going around trying to heal and rope Third Party Members she sneers and comes closer to him.]

[At some point while Vash is tying up a Third Party member he might notices flashes of light in the air and then the body of another Third Party member comes tumbling down in front of him.

[Things start out innocently enough, or so much as they can, given that Mihai is currently trying to murder flying members of an approaching army before they can kill him or any of the people sheltered in the defensive center. But the shots he's attempting are clean, guarenteed kills. The targets should only experience a fleeting moment of pain at worst, most going down without so much as realizing that they've been hit.

Should. In actuallity, Mihai is missing his shots, frequently enough that his reputation might end up in the gutter if this were his home. As it stands, Mihai's left wondering about the cause. The riffled he's using worked fine the day before, and nothing should have happened in the brief period since. But when it keeps happening even after he switches to his familiar colts, Mihai knows that there's more to this than equipment malfunctions.

It takes several more test fires to realize just what's going on; gunfire that would easily be attributed to background noise actually sounds as more of an echo of his own, and Mihai's intended targets are being hit by a second shooter--one not going for vital points. Experience points Mihai in the right direction then, until he finds a blonde man in a red coat.]

[Now this is interesting, despite being Vash's drinking buddy for like a year, he's never seen or heard that Vash could use firearms. Actually, he's surprised. Shooting, but without a single kill shot.]

[Kouki is busy. If he's not providing healing spells to anyone that might need it, or a useful nullifying or reflecting barrier that can take a hit or spell once, then he's casting spells to weaken the enemies.

He's switching his skills around as the situation demand it, whenever he can. He'll do what it takes to protect the noncombatants.]

Defensive Post, any day

[The first day is easily the worst. Not only does Link feel so unwell that he's largely unable to fight, but the magic he intends to use has all but deserted him, too. Still, he'll press on - by the end of the day, he can stop feeling useless and get on with defense.]

[The end of the first day, and the next few, are easier. Link can generally be found higher up, using Golden Gauntlet-enhanced strength to send arrows shooting far and fast. Magic doesn't stick when they get closer to the Shifters - but, well, an arrow on fire and shot with supernatural strength is still an arrow on fire and shot with supernatural strength.]

Day 2

[The fighters on the offensive means attacks here come in waves, sometimes with large breaks in between. During one such lull Minato steps away from his usual position to take a glance around the area. The green tunic immediately catches his eye, and he steps over.]

Day 1, earlier in the day

[If Link's having trouble during the first day, he ought to appreciate a little bit of assistance, right? Even if said assistance is rather... simple for the time being. Because a certain Mercury Adept happens to be nearby...

...but rather than attempt to use his Psynergy on the Third Party soldiers, he's intentionally limiting himself to trying out some of the items he had requested back at the dorms. Right now, he's trying out a bramble seed, throwing it in the direction of one of the soldiers. It doesn't actually hit its target, but rather lands next to it.

And then suddenly sprouts into five large, thorned vines not unlike these. (http://goldensunwiki.net/images/7/73/PsyThorn.png) Needless to say, this seems to catch the soldier off-guard. And while the thorns are no doubt painful, the primary purpose of this particular trick is to slow down that soldier momentarily - something it does a pretty good job at, no less.

Do feel free to notice what your fellow draftee's doing, Link. Who knows, he might not even be opposed to teaming up if need be!]

[Wolfwood spends his time being very precise. These guys really were relentless in their attacks, but one thing Wolfwood had over them was an easy way to strike them down. As they try for a swift swoop inward he spins the Cross Punisher round until the machine gun is facing the sky, and proceeds to shoot through fleshy feathered wings, unflinching when clumps of blood splatter across the ground.

One of the angels try to bulldoze down from the air with wing torn and arm poised with blade in hand, but the preacherman bats the man away with the end of his crucifix, forcing him into the ground violently.

But he doesn't pull the trigger and rip the man to shreds. He instead leaves him an unconscious mess nearby while he continues to shoot down skyward Third Party members with careful yet plentifully aimed bullets.

Soon there's spend bullet casings covering the ground, as the cross roars with mechanical noise.]

[It doesn't really need to be said, but at any given point of those day, Wolfwood should feel a familiar pressure against his back. No words need to be said who's back has been pressed up against yours now is there? It just happens.]

[Honestly, Nami's doing her best to avoid Vash. It's easier to not lose patience with him that way. She'll be sticking close to Sanji on the first day-- blind? are you kidding her, you bastards?-- and doing whatever's asked of her.]

1st Day, Defensive Post

[Sayo's following Mercury's lead, both traveling from medical area to area, and also keeping the look-out for anyone fighting who's been injured. She's already seen quite a few bodies, and have steered away from them at first, but she forces herself to move forward, staying low and near stronger folk, keeping a medical kit close at hand.

[Asad is trying to concentrate especially on ensuring the non-combatants and the injured are safe and sound (and those with handicaps on the first day). As long as no Shifters are nearby, he'll be using powerful Mage Arts on any Third Party members who even look like they are coming in their direction. He has no trouble knocking them out of the air with his powerful Havoc Cyclone which summons up a cyclone to deal with his enemies. If they don't die right off, they definitely won't be flying afterwards.

If a Shifter approaches, he'll change over to a bow and arrow until the threat is taken care of.

He seems to be handling himself fine, overall, but as the draft wears on, he will grow more and more exhausted from just being out as much as possible. He's a stubborn one who will put others before himself and that will be a problem towards the last day.]

[Today, Ven's wearing his armor; given how dangerous the situation is, he can't risk getting to roughed up, especially if anyone needs his assistance.

He'll rotate between using his Glider to survey the area from above and keeping close to the ground to protect civilians and noncombatants.

When he does come across an enemy, he'll retaliate with ranged attacks including Zero Graviga, which briefly traps them in the air, Fission Firaga, an exploding ball of fire, and Tornado. Should Shifters approach, however, his strategy will change, focusing mainly on physical blows.


All the while, though, he's keeping his eyes out for Vanitas and trying to stick close to others; he can't risk being separated, in part because he wants to protect people and also because he'd rather not be too vulnerable under these circumstances. This becomes even more important as the week progresses, as the fighting takes its toll on him mentally and physically; true, he's fought before, but never like this.]

[If you happen to be outside in the dark and looking up, you may see a pair of glowing red eyes peering back at you from the roof. They are intensely creepy.

And then they quickly disappear to a degree, resuming their regard of the night sky. She's keeping watch, really!

...Flandre can't help glancing back down to ground level, though. Or fluttering from one patch of roof to another at random intervals.

Occasionally, a distant and...disturbingly wet crack is heard, and a bloody bundle of feather and flesh that used to be a Third Party scout crumples out of the air. There aren't too many of them, but.

Don't mind the slightly creepy childish giggling at each kill over your heads.

1st Day, defensive post

[First day, and already the place is busy as hell. Violence, noise, the firing of shots and clash of metal reaching far and wide, even to where Sanji's currently lurching around, arms outstretched before he forces them down and nearly tilts off balance because he's too disoriented to account for the movement and--

... Yes, there's something very wrong going on here. His face has skipped a normal pale and gone straight to sheet white, and the only reason he's not shaking is because he refuses to keep still. He jerks, stops on unsteady feet, then walks on with his head swinging wildly back and forth, like stopping will sink him further into realization.

Fuck. This is-- shit. His eyes are open - he can feel the muscles tense and flutter over his eyes, but the like a faulty screen, everything stays the same dreary black as before.

This is not good.]

First few days?

[Kohaku will be doing the only things she's allowing herself to do when she's outside..which would be watching over those who can't fight, and healing the people who get hurt.

But at any loud noises, or just plain creepy noises, anybody near her will see flinch.

Nope, it's not going to be long before she officially freaks out.]

1st Day, Defensive Post

[ god, she feels -- like someone hit her with a hammer. Xion's ... never actually been sick. sniffles maybe, but truly ill? never. not once in her short life.

it feels like she's dying. this flu stuff is for the birds.

also she's green. bright green. we're talking kermit green. it's a little ... odd.

it's difficult -- extremely so -- to stay on her feet, stay balanced and focused, when she's running a high fever and her entire body hurts. but she knows what she's here to do... and she just refuses to be a liability. so she'll go out there, and she'll fight anyone within range of her magic -- but she's slow, barely able, and it's clear she shouldn't even be on her feet, for those first few hours. her swaxe and bow both go unused.

at one point, she will retreat briefly back to the noncombatants, near collapse from the strain.

[He was more than a little sore from the minor injuries that had come out of the blue. The nausea on top of it wasn't helping. But he was out here.

Despite this, the sounds of war is keeping his mind on other things. It wouldn't be the first time he's fought when injured. He'll be taking on third party members and making sure non combatants, and the post, are safe.]

[If there was ever a time in which Keiichi felt fascinated by wars and fights, it's long gone now. Not that he ever was fascinated by them anyway. This is totally different from fighting against Takano's Hounds, no matter how much time he spends out there, how many days go by, he still isn't comfortable here.

But he can still think of situations in which he was even more uncomfortable, so Keiichi brushes off those feelings and concentrates in the battle. One would think that the defense position wouldn't get many work, but they still have enough "fun" on their own, the ones at the offensive groups must be hardly having time for anything.

Keiichi mainly uses a rifle, usually aiming first at whoever enemy may be closing in to the close-range combatants, or at enemies coming his way. He's not a professional but his aim isn't bad at all. If any enemy manages to get too close, he switches to the knives. it's an easy routine once he gets the trick of it.]

Days 1-3

[Minato can be found at varying points around the defensive area for the first three days, normally not far from Keiichi; although there are a few lulls where they split up. At other points he'll be napping inside - using Personas for a long period takes a lot from you.

Any watchers will notice his battle technique is.... unique. If you want to notice the boy pointing a gun at himself to summon monsters, or just speak with him, he's available.]
