Summary: It's a wintertime jamboree. Go ice skating. Hand out gifts to those you love. (Or want to prank, as the case may be.) Deal with meddling, creepy elves. Kiss a lot of people. It'll be good. Except for the parts where it'll be awkward. But that's what we're here for, isn't it?
Rating: Anywhere from PG to R, I imagine. If you need to play out sexytimes, please either fade to black and take it elsewhere or CLEARLY mark the thread in the subject line. (The former is preferable, but not strictly necessary.)

If it only lasts for weeks, it'll be better than it being permanent. He'll be lonely, since his old friend isn't here with him. He was quite attached to that guy, Lebreau...

Lebreau?

[Startled, Firo blinks, then furrows his brow in conversation.He's sure he hasn't heard it in his lifetime, but the name sounds very familiar nonetheless.]

Who's he? That name sounds familiar...

You might remember him. Well, you might know about him at least. He's the guy Czes was with when we were... on the ship.

[He frowns a little as he explains, thinking back on the pair he remembers. He remembers worrying when Czeslaw sounded like he was by himself in the letter, worrying more when Czeslaw cried that time when they met. He's sure Lebreau is no longer around... poor kid.]

[Szilard's personal memories are nearly useless when it comes to remembering people since he didn't much care for their names or faces, so Firo tries to go a different route. The memories are hazy and dim since Lebreau was eaten by an alchemist who was eaten by Szilard, but with some effort Firo traces through to them.

And then immediately stops himself. This Lebreau does not seem like a nice guy.]

...Maiza, are you sure he was with Czes?

[Firo's question confuses him. He sounds... wary?]

Since the day I met them. Czeslaw was always hiding behind him.

[immamartillo]

[He can't bring himself to look any deeper into the memories. He takes a deep breath as he tries to organize his thoughts. Czes wouldn't hang out with someone so bad, would he?]

...Maybe I'm thinkin' of a different guy.

If you think so. Why, is something worryin' you?

[immamartillo]

[He holds his hands up defensively.]

No, no! It's just--It's nothin'.

I think we're almost there. What were we talkin' about before?

You mentioned you got Czes a present. Whatcha get him?

[immamartillo]

[He smiles and tries to forget the anxieties of a few moments ago. Lebreau is nothing to worry about. He's gone.]

I got him Peter Pan. You know that book Claire and I liked when we were kids?

[contaeoro]

Yeah, I remember. It was a good book, wasn't it?

[immamartillo]

[He bobs his head up and down.]

It was great!

[Worried that he sounded too enthusiastic, Firo ducks his head and blushes.]

I-I mean... it was really good. Claire used to talk about it all the time.

[contaeoro]

Claire, eh? Is he the type to enjoy fairy tales?

[He says nothing of Firo's initial enthusiasm.]

[immamartillo]

Yeah. Makes sense, since he's usually off in his own fantasy world.

[He laughs.]

He used to want to be just like Peter in the story and never grow up.

[contaeoro]

Peter Pan would suit him. He sounds like the type who could stay young no matter how big he gets, from the way you talk about him.

[immamartillo]

Yeah, that's just like him. Still a brat, after all these years.

[Like Firo can talk.]

[Maiza says nothing. He just laughs.] Czeslaw would probably like it.

[Now, he looks around for Firo's house.]

That Czes is sneaky!

[immamartillo]

You think so? I hope he does.

[The house is visible just around the corner, and Firo speeds up as it comes into view.]

indeed he is!

[Gosh, Firo, you're such an excitable man. Maiza speeds up his pace to keep up.]

Definitely, even if he doesn't act it.

[immamartillo]

I'm glad.

[He laughs and combs his fingers through his hair.]

I wasn't really sure what to get him, or what he's already read.

[When they reach the door, he holds it open for Maiza.]

I can't answer that, either. He always had a handle on himself back home. Thanks.

[He walks inside, then waits for Firo to enter too.]

[immamartillo]

What a difficult kid...

[He doesn't say it without fondness in his tone.

He steps in after Maiza, then slips around him to go farther into the house.]

You stay right there while I get 'em, okay?

[No peeking at where he hides the presents! Even though they're in the very obvious place of his closet.]

[contaeoro]

You have my word. [He laughs, reaching into his own pocket to pull out the box there. He holds it, hidden from view by his fingers.] Should I close my eyes as well?

[immamartillo]

[Firo pauses to try and catch a glimpse at the present Maiza's holding.

Wondering if he's being mocked with that question, he frowns and shakes his head.]

No, just gimme a minute!

[He dashes off into his room and emerges a moment later, holding a package behind his back. Smiling proudly, he holds it out to Maiza as soon as he's within reach. It's rectangular and wrapped rather sloppily in eye-searing red paper.]

[He sees you trying to peek there, Firo. He doesn't mind if you do, but all you'll see would be a box. He holds onto it even as Firo returns with his own box, taking the offered gift with a smile.]
