Note: Booths can be labeled as separate comments! Just put [booth name] or something in the subject line so people can find top level comments easier. Work was probably started for it on the 22nd-23rd for labor purposes, sheltering things from the weather on the 24th, and the actual Fair is on the 25th-26th, so using any of those dates and figuring out where your characters are helping would be good. CHARACTERS ARE WELCOME TO TAG THE LOG FOR INTERACTING WITH OTHERS, NOT JUST BOOTHS, SO FEEL FREE TO TAG IN! Also a character who might not know what's going on is welcome to walk by and question it! And so forth.

I'll leave the descriptions up to you all as there probably isn't much that is too uniform about the displays, as everyone is encouraged to be creative about it. Think of it as something on a much smaller scale than the festival from a year ago, definitely, but how hard the characters worked isn't something I could define for each of you. That said there are plenty of unique sights, so enjoy browsing! Thank you!

Berk Booth

[Hiccup has been looking forward to this for weeks. World sharing has always been his favorite part of school, and he was eager to share Berk with his fellow Lucetians--well, its more interesting parts, at least. Namely the dragons.

At his table, there are wire-and-metal renditions of several types of dragons that live on Berk, including a Gronkle, a Deadly Nadder, a Hideous Zippleback, and a Monstrous Nightmare. They're not much more than copper frames, but they're highly detailed with hand-drawn images of the dragons themselves done by Hiccup's own hand beside them.

The library's copy of the Dragon Book is also there, for the perusal of any who come by. On a backdrop behind him, a handful of Viking axes and shields hang that he brought from the smithy.

Hiccup will be wearing traditional viking garb, including his Breast Hat. Oh, and Toothless is there. Did I mention that? Of course Toothless is there. He is Exhibit A of Hiccup's cultural display, and there's a pack full of fish to keep him enticed and well-behaved. That doesn't mean he's entirely pleased to be here, but eh. Could be worse.

He'll demonstrating his fire-breathing prowess later on. This may or may not be at Hiccup's instigation.]

[Aang, in Kyoshi garb, eventually reaches the booth and notices Toothless.]

Whoa! Is that a dragon?

[dragoneer]

[Hiccup grins, nodding and patting Toothless on the neck. Toothless, for his part, doesn't seem too impressed with Aang.]

Yep! He's one of the dragons from my island back home. His name is Toothless.

[Aang waves to Toothless with a goofy grin.]

Hi Toothless! I'm Aang, nice to meet you!

[He then addresses Hiccup.]

He's really cool. I've met a few dragons back home, but none of them look like him.

[This cultural fair is very much an anthropologist's delight. She's been there practically all day, wandering from booth to booth with avid interest. Her notebook is out rather than stashed in her messenger bag, unsurprising with the copious note taking in which she's been engaging.

It's not so much the dragons that attract Brennan to Hiccup's booth but the viking garb he wears. Having already met some Napoleonic era sailors, she's been more attentive towards the possibility of encountering others from the past.

He's greeted with a smile and greeting in old Norse.] Heill!

[Hey, it's not often he hears a greeting like that around here. Hiccup grins and waves.]

Hello! Uh--youuuuuu're not a viking, are you?

[He probably shouldn't count it out, even if she doesn't look like the typical viking woman. But Toothless does perk up a bit, looking at her curiously.]

[Her clothing is very much that of a twenty-first century professional: a purple button down shirt and pair of dark blue jeans covered partially by a white Burberry trench coat. Her black knee-high boots and eastern looking jewelry add to the image.

She shakes her head.]

No. The little bit of old Norse I know comes from brief lessons with colleagues at the University of Nottingham when I was brought over to identify remains found in Stavnsager.

[She grins, almost laughs a little.] I have to admit, this is the first time I've ever encountered a living viking.

[Katara is admiring the wire figurines.]

Oh wow, Hiccup, did you make these?

[dragoneer]

[Aaw yeah. He can't help a proud grin.]

Yeah, actually, I did! They're not great, but...I like to think they're pretty accurate, at least.

They look great to me!

[She points at the roundish one.]

What's this one called?

Ingo will happily go through all of the booth's contents soon but-- dragon]

So this is him, Hiccup? [Haxorus, trailing behind her master, looks just as curious and fascinated as Ingo does.]

[dragoneer]

Oh--[Hiccup blinks, before grinning and nodding. Toothless peers right back at Ingo, giving him an evaluative look. Hmm. He smells like Pokemon. That's a good sign.]

Yeah! This is Toothless. Toothless? Meet Ingo. He's another Pokemon trainer.

Toothless... it's a great pleasure. [Haxorus gives a rumbling hello as well, dipping her head.] Ah, and this is Haxorus.

[Is the name Toothless descriptive of the dragon?... He'll have to watch for teeth or lack thereof. Then again, Hiccup hasn't really hiccuped since Ingo met him so maybe it's just an other-world naming thing... a distractor! Maybe Toothless DOES have teeth! Gosh, this is like meeting a different-region Dragon-type, only ten times cooler! Toothless looks like he could be a dark- and dragon-type, maybe...] Does he have a species name?

[ So. Helios has a little dragon draped over his shoulder as he passes by this booth. Both he and Luminair blink and tilt their heads in comical unison. Dragons. Helios does love his dragons and he'll watch Toothless in awe and respect. They really were such amazing creatures.

Luminair might chirp at Toothless trying to get the other's attention and fidgeting in his place on Helios' shoulder. ] Ah! Luminair!

[ Totally hopping off of Helios' shoulder and bounding over to Toothless now, yep. Hide yo fish! Luminair isn't very picky when it comes to food to say the least. ] H-Hiccup! Your booth is fantastic!

[dragoneer]

[Toothless smells Luminair before he spots him, and his ears perk right up. That. Is another dragon. Another dragon.

Stay cool, Toothless. Don't act too excited. You've got a reputation to maintain. Hiccup, however, is completely distracted from Helios' comment when he spots Luminair for himself.]

I-i-is that a--dragon? Your dragon?

[Toothless regards Luminair coolly when he heads for the fish, but he'll push one towards him with his nose as a sort of peace offering.]

--Oh, thanks! It's, uh, not much, really. Just a bit of home.

[hisapprentice]

[This thing is okay. Maybe going to school here wouldn't be so bad after all.

"Okay" lasts about as long as it takes Luke to get to this booth with all of the tiny, intricate dragons. And the real one. You will never see eyes as wide as this again, Hiccup.]

Whoa! [Toothless is sort of scary, but this boy has kind of a way with animals and only, like, two have ever rejected him. He takes just one step in the dragon's direction and smiles to hide his shock.] You're real.

[dragoneer]

[Toothless peers up at the boy--oh, a boy--but at least he's a small one. Smaller boys are okay. Like Hiccup. He reaches out his nose, tentatively sniffing.]

Yep, he sure is. His name's Toothless, and he's from my world back home.

[wise_maiden]

[And it's time to make the rounds to Hiccup's display. It's certainly impressive.]

How are things coming along for you?

[dragoneer]

[He beams at her.]

Great! I didn't realize people would be so interested, but I guess dragons are pretty unusual for most people.

[Just, you know. Not him.]

[ Admittedly she came for Toothless, but it's really the models and pictures of dragons that she stays for. ]

So why is this one called the Hideous Zippleback? [ point ] It's really not all that hideous.

[dragoneer]

Compared with some viking names? Thaaat one isn't too bad. [He rubs his neck. It could have gotten a much worse name, honestly.]

But--you're right. I think it's sort of...neat, really. Fascinating, in fact. Two heads and all.

[Well hey there. She briefly grins at Toothless, remembering her rule about not petting the dragon on the nose and approaching Hiccup's booth. Her eyes are immediately glued to that hat though.]

...Hiccup, what is that?

[dragoneer]

[Toothless will tilt his head curiously at her when she approaches, while Hiccup plucks the helmet off his head to show it to her.]

It's, uh...well, it's a helmet! For protecting heads. As helmets ought to.

[This was probably a booth Beast could have easily missed if not for the dragon sitting next to it. That... that is definitely a dragon. He's seen paintings of quite different-looking dragons, but no, he's... he's sure that's a dragon. And he can't help but lower his body and raise his fur at that intimidating creature.]

[Oh now, this definitely not a creature Toothless has encountered in Luceti yet. He's big--not quite at intimidating as Moro, but Toothless will be on guard anyway, eying Beast closely.]

Uhhhh. [Hiccup just. Blinks.] Can I...help you?
