[Kain is collapsing mentally, broken and consumed by darkness. The fact they're in this underwater, enclosed place makes it even worse- he belongs to the sky, and right now he can't even have that. All he has is his own inner darkness. All he has is the fear that she might not come back. In this state, it's best he's taken down before he turns fully to the dark and starts attacking allies. With the last shred of sanity he has left, he's come to his decision and now intends to follow through.]

[Too bad his allies are all idiots and wouldn't give him a real duel to the death. But there are plenty of enemies here who can, and Kain charges recklessly through them. He keeps an eye out for someone particular... and then sees the demon in the middle of viciously killing the enemy. Perfect.]

[Kain rushes toward Yuber, stabbing through an enemy in his way. Then he strikes his spear toward the demon to get his attention.]

[Day 3 - open to Raine later]

[After reinforcements arrived on the second day, he had expected reinforcements on the third. It wasn't a surprise then to see so many soldiers when he looked further down the access tunnel leading away from the secured sector.

While they could not stay inside of the actual secured area indefinitely because of the requirements imposed upon draftees, the access tunnel leading away from it was still well-guarded enough to provide cover for noncombatants.

But there were many Third Party soldiers close to the the secured sector, and the advanced natural Shifting that caused metal to twist and water to blast through droids were telling signs that something was different. The last he had seen of such Shifting was over a year ago.

The chaos forces him further away from the secured area even as the fighting escalates towards the secured sector, and he seethes to himself as he watches the fighting from a distance that is hardly comfortable at all. In fact, it's pretty damn dangerous.

[This one, too, is all for it, but with the sheer number of Third Party soldiers around today, as well as the fact some of them seem to be more skilled than the rest? It probably can't hurt to team up with someone else.

Or at least, that's ν-13's opinion - and it's also why today, she's going to be looking for the demon, carefully making her way over to him while still taking out any of the soldiers that happen to get in the way by using her drive.

...Should he happen to spot her before she makes it over to him, he might notice that her attacks seem a bit more... sluggish than usual. As if she's not as focused as she ought to be. But given that she's been spending as much time as she could out fighting, that's not really too surprising, is it?]

[Day 2--Underwater City--Machine Mission] Raine, Sheena, Derek Bliss, Jack Sparrow, Sheik (?)

[Their mission, whether or not they were happy about being chosen to accept it, is to disable shifting machinery in the Underwater City. Jack Sparrow isn't interested in sabotage this time around, however. Being almost-killed by Giles was bad enough, but what happened to Ami?

Shooting things: therapeutic. Fact.

Luckily the Third Party fighters are rather easy targets, and Sparrow's aim is good: not a single bullet wasted.

But now the pirate has exhausted his supply of powder and shot in providing cover for the mission. Now whenever they are accosted by Third Party fighters, he relies on his blade. This isn't as favorable an arrangement for Jack, who is starting to feel the exhaustion and illness resulting from the vampire attack more keenly.]

What for?

[Still don't believe she's a ninja, Jacky? The Third Party fighters do have to get close - uncomfortably so, sometimes - but so far she's been swift enough to dodge and duck and Pyre Seal her way around without more than a few nicks and scratches.

She just doesn't find guns to be necessary, is all.

And she's keeping an eye on Raine, especially, as much as she can. They're in an underwater city, after all.]

[Now this is exactly where Kain likes to be. In battle, cutting down enemies. Throughout the day, he'll be out on the front lines of the action, fighting right up until the limit.]

[Of course, Rydia's right at his side--or in the 'back row' where more vulnerable mages ought to be. At her full power, she shows no hesitation upon unleashing it at their enemies, especially using it to target those who target Kain when he's busy with another foe. No ambushing her dragoon.

Around evening time, Rydia had to admit to herself that she's reaching the end of her strength, at least for now. She looks over to Kain, checking to see how he's doing since likely he'll protest whatever shape he's truly in at the time.]

Day 2, escort mission - city to sector one

[His second day of fighting, and it's not getting any easier. There are still stragglers in the city, both adults and children - many have been separated from their families, but unable to escape safely to sector one without an escort.]

[Which is precisely what Link is doing now. While he fights off the Third Party, he ushers the handful of stragglers he had found in a damaged building onwards - it wasn't far to go, now.]

[Minato is already beginning to feel the strain of battle. While escorting means he runs into far fewer enemies than if he charged straight in he's had a few encounters already. He hasn't stopped to check if any of the enemies he's hit with Persona attacks while shepherding civilians were dead or merely injured. He doesn't really want to know.

At least, he has a capable battle partner. Link's skill is every bit as should be expected from a famous video game character-- ...not that Minato would ever admit to knowing that. Even if he wanted to it is far from the right time.]

[Day 1 - En Route to Sector Five - Machinery Disabling]

[Ceodore's not precisely technologically adept, but Selphie appears to be, which is a surprising and useful skill. Still for her to disable those machines, they're going to have to fight their way over to Sector Five, a task that the princeling is eager to engage in.]

[Vincent's gotten a little more used to holding back the monsters without that power cap... so he focuses on shooting down enemies, moving through them in a swirl of red. He puts the Materia he has to good use as well.]

It strikes the front target, causing a small explosion that sends it flying back a few feet. As the remaining ones continue their assault, Jay turns and runs in Vincent's direction. It may be time to cooperate.]

Day 2 - Luceti Enclosure (Adell, Shadow, Hermione?)

[After rescue operations are completed, it's time to focus their attention on the Third Party. Terra's a bit unnerved as she heads through the replica of their village. She does her best to stay focused, certain she saw some Third Party members nearby, but is slightly distracted nonetheless. It's almost to the point where she wishes those Third Party members would show themselves, just so that she could focus on the fighting and not the creepy town replica.]

[Shadow is just coming back to rejoin the party, turning visible once he reaches them. At times he's been slipping away to invisibly sneak around and get a look at the surrounding areas- especially when they were doing those rescues, but it's come in handy to scout for enemies now too.]

[A couple times in this battle, Kain ends up so involved in his fighting that he loses sight of his allies... which is what's happened right now. But he always catches up after a little while. He wants to be sure to get back to Rydia, but first he'll work on finishing off the Third Party soldiers he's facing. It's nothing he can't handle though, and eventually Kain slices and stabs his way through them.]

[When Ceodore claimed to be ready for this fight two days ago, he had no idea what he was spouting off about. Certainly not this. Separated from the others, he can understand now, battling is madness. But finding Rydia's body lifeless on the ground is not among the things he expected. In vain he spends himself trying to revive her, knowing it to be utterly hopeless as her wings have been ripped off.

Pausing only to remove his cloak and lay it over her, he stands, scanning the area for the others and locating the one person he can't bear to tell... but has to.]

[Day 3... chaos is erupting in the ranks now. More enemy reinforcements are coming left and right, more skilled and dangerous than before. To make matters worse, there's the arrival of the Third Party Elites onto the field.

And to add frosting on that cake, Adell and Terra have gotten separated from Shadow and Hermione, and the enemy is closing in with far superior numbers. Adell scans the incoming wave of foes while being ready to launch himself into the fray.]

...They're gonna need more guys.

[Well, getting separated was a lot easier than he'd expected, to his dismay. Perhaps his curiosity at seeing such a new place isn't really getting him into any less trouble than he'd like, especially when he ends up taking the wrong path again because he saw something he hasn't before.

And without more than a few scrolls and a Water Rune on him, he feels a little naked. Despite not showing it often, it was hard getting used to not having the cursed rune on him. Perhaps he felt a little safer, a little more reason to go off on his own.

... No use crying over spilt milk then. He'll just continue looking around, occasionally ducking out of the way if any enemies pass by, but for the most part looking for a familiar face or two to accompany.]

[Well, things got a lot more hectic today, didn't they?

If Ted listens carefully in the distance he can hear what sounds like an outboard motor-- not that he might recognise it as such, but it appears to be accompanied by shrieking. And it's getting closer.

She can't melt metal with her scream, but Nami can sure make a valiant attempt. Screeching around the corner on her waver, and she'd say hi, but she doesn't have time to stop today.

Not with a pack of Elites on her tail. WHAT. DON'T YOU PEOPLE HAVE ANYONE MORE CHALLENGING TO PICK ON OH GOD HELP D8 yeah she'll just keep going. Good thing about those jet dials is she can outrun pretty much anything, even God. But she can't... quite... lose them.

[Jack drags into the clinic. Not seriously wounded, nothing more than cuts, scratches, bruises. It's the damned exhaustion from this damned anemia or WHATEVER IT IS that is truly plaguing him.]

[A secured area, you say? Definitely the place Caesar Silverberg will be spending as much time as he possibly can. It would be the first time in over a year that he did not have to spend every moment on the battlefield and you know what? It was kind of nice. Maybe the only thing disappointing about it was that he was only assisting his brother this time, but even that wasn't entirely disappointing. But next time...

Anyone who finds themselves in Sector 1 for any reason can definitely find Caesar there. He's wide awake, but he looks extremely bored. Maybe this was how his brother felt last time. Sigh.]

[Twelve hours spent on the battlefield pinpointing and directing others to rescue the Malnosso stragglers- and of course, assisting those who were engaged in combat against the Third Party. She'd tried to keep the idea of bloodshed away from her mind and had done relatively well -or so she'd like to think for the first day.

She wasn't quite sure if she could take another twelve hours of that tomorrow.

At the moment, all she wanted was to have some dinner and go back to sleep and try not to think of so many things as she walked down the hallway, though when she passes your door, Caesar, she'll stop and pause.

In spite of his words yesterday, he'd gotten lost from his group, and only now did he realize trying to fight a large group of third party soldiers on his own was a bad idea. He still throws himself into the fight, though. Running isn't an option right now.]

[What a bother, being chose to fight in someone else's war. He'd very much rather be back in Luceti, but wishful thinking is just that--wishful and foolish. So while he may have spent a few hours brooding and lurking, it's time for him to do what he does best.

Stab people.

He'll be very efficient at it when the time comes, he's sure, but for the moment, he's watching and waiting in the shadows. Once he starts this fight, he'll be in it until the end. It's just a shame Lyn isn't here to goad him.]

[Hugo's doing what Hugo does best for now. Following orders. One of which is to search for a stray straggler or two who may have gotten off the line.]

[Day 1 and 2]

[Disabling machinery? Escorting stragglers to safety? Forget that. That's not what ν-13's here for. No, rather, the armor-clad Murakumo is completely focused on combat this time around. Much like last time, she's primarily making use of Act Parser as well as her Drive, Sword Summoner, to remain at a distance from her targets while attacking them by launching swords from afar.

However, those who happened to see her fighting during the last draft may notice that two things are... different from last time.

The first difference is that, unlike last time, when making use of her Drive, she's not just shooting one sword at a time as she normally would - rather, she always seems to summon a pair, and frequently two pairs in rapid succession. In a few particularly extreme cases, this will lead to some of her targets getting hit by barrages of swords, much like this.

The other... well, if the above example didn't already give it away, she's being far, far more brutal than last time, a fact that - strangely enough - seems to become progressively more obvious as time passes. Often, the machine-like girl will continue her onslaught even after it should've already been more than enough to kill her target, and on rare occasions, she may even be seen forcing one of the Third Party members into the air using her Drive only to leap up, grab them and slam them into the ground, following the whole thing by landing on their back with a sickening crunch. Heavy armor is a fun thing, really.

...More importantly than all of that, however? She doesn't seem to be limiting herself to just attacking the Third Party: if she should happen to come across any stragglers that currently don't seem to be escorted by anyone, she will attempt to take them out as well. Stragglers that are already being escorted by at least one other draftee are safe, but the others... well, they won't be quite so fortunate.

Approaching this one with caution is advised, to say the least.]

[ attacking the people that are to be escorted does not fly with Teito. he's no slouch in the battlefield, having been used as a combat slave for the majority of his years. it's only recently that he doesn't want to kill anymore.

[Now that he's out here, Naoki's taken on an almost frightening calm. Fighting is something he's very used to, he just can't let himself get angry. Otherwise he runs the risk of losing control over the demon half of him, so he's maintaining that steadiness--following or trotting alongside Richard, searching for any stragglers in the city. All the while keeping a sharp eye out for any enemies.

The second and third days will be much the same. However, seeing that many of the stragglers will have been taken out of the city to a safe area by then? He'll just be playing his role as Richard's shadow or human shield, taking down any enemy in sight or who gets too close--though his aim is to incapacitate rather than to kill. Unless it proves necessary.

So needless to say, where he's found, he won't be found by himself. He'll also be keeping a sharp eye out for any other combatants or those who he knows.]

[Day 1] Underwater City

[Having his magic back at full strength is making Richard feel much more confident about this entire thing-- or if nothing else, his ability to help protect the innocent citizens. His outwardly calm demeanor is masking his inner uncertainty, however, though that's something he likely won't reveal to anyone but Naoki. Right now, he's focused on his duty, and that is going to take priority.

But he's still staying close by Naoki's side, both out of a desire to protect him and for safety's sake, since this area is unknown territory for both of them.]

[Day 1; Escort Mission - Yuri and Luke]

[A child who was separated from her mother wandered alone in the alleyways, doing her best to hide from the winged soldiers who threatened her life. She cried and hiccuped, and every now and then she'd wander from her spot to another hiding place, all while calling out for her parents. She wasn't sure where to go; every place seemed to be dangerous right now.

It was while she was running from one place to another that she was spotted by one of the Third Party. She could tell by the rush of the wings and the sword that the soldier drew from its side. All she could do was scream and flee, but she wasn't fast enough. She lost her footing and stumbled, and when she turned, the soldier with the large wings was right behind her and raising his sword to end her life for good. She cowered and screamed...

Only to be pushed heavily to the side, and the next thing she knew, she was on the floor while a young red-haired man clashed swords with the person who was about to kill her.

Luke had seen what was going to happen, and he shouted his partner's name in warning as he raced as fast as he could to prevent it. Thank Yulia he did. Luke wasn't sure if he could stand the sight of a child being struck down right in front of his eyes, especially after he's already killed a few members of the Third Party...

He just hoped that Yuri heard him and could provide some back up. Luke was sure he could take the soldier down, but he wasn't sure if he could do that and make sure the little girl didn't get hurt in the process.]

[A shout of warning was hardly necessary, especially once the scream of a child rang out. Yuri was only thankful that Luke was able to react quickly enough -- even at his quickest, Yuri may not have been able to make it in time, due to the distance.

Regardless of that, back up arrives for Luke in the form of a carefully aimed Azure Storm -- a set of light blue blasts of energy, traveling through the air with the intent to either blow the enemy away, or at the very least, draw its attention away from Luke.

Yuri himself is right by Luke almost seconds afterward.]

Luceti Enclosure [Day 2 for Ramirez] [Day 3 open]

[Well, this is the perfect place for Legault to stalk and perform his civic or not-so-civic duties! Of course, by the middle of each day, he has blood on his clothes and blades and doesn't mind if people see him. He's not the only one fighting, after all. If you're lucky, you'll see him taking out a winged soldier with a knife to the throat! Or if you're Ramirez, you'll see him...well, doing the same thing, but with a bag at his side. Whatever could be inside?...]

[Day 2 and 3]

[While escorting frightened Malnosso scientists and their families with Luke on the first day, one thing became very, very clear to Yuri -- running back and forth like this wasn't stopping other people from being attacked.

Therefore, for the second and third day, he'll be fighting off members of the Third Party (be it to defend the helpless, give someone back-up if it seems they need it, or just taking them down in general). If he should be seen on the 2nd day, he'll look like any other guy trying to take down his enemies. On the 3rd, though, he'll seem much more focused on making fatal strikes as quickly and often as he possibly can, rather than taking the time to have an actual battle.]

[And as he moves along through the fighting, a ninja will fall from the sky into a forward roll right in front of him. Getting up from the roll she finds herself facing...a wall.]

[Day 3]

[It was much harder for Luke on the third day of the battling, and not just because of his discomfort with fighting and killing human beings. The Elite were much stronger than the soldiers he had fought the first two days, and Luke was having a hard time keeping up with them. He had protected Xion until Sanji filled in for him, and now he was just fighting as hard as he could.

The Elite also proved to be exceptional at bringing him away from the others he was fighting alongside, the ones who were stronger than him, as if they were leading the calf away from the pack. Still, Luke fought as best as he could, even though he was already tired and bloody from fighting for several hours now.

With a final slash, he brought one Elite down, and he barely had time to look up before two of them lunged at him and brought their swords down to strike his. Luke was able to block it, but the force of it made him stagger backwards, exactly what they wanted.

It's pretty obvious he's having some trouble.]

[Guy, meanwhile, has spent the majority of his time running around and providing support where he can. If he were to be completely honest though, his only goal was to find those he cared about and make sure they were safe.

It worried him a lot that Luke was nowhere to be found.

Guy had actually taken to calling Luke's name, hearing his voice echo down the hallways, eventually swallowed up by the sounds of vigorous battle elsewhere. He slipped down an adjoining path, pressing his back to the wall, the Jewel in a tight grip as he listened for any familiar voices further along inside the complex.]

[Day 3 - Dist and Nephry]

[You know, it's rather fucking difficult to properly work with machines you've never worked with before in general. Twice as hard when there are psychotic killers on the loose with swords slashing at you every which way. Oh, and let's not forget keeping an eye out for a few people.

Thankfully, Dist is a genius quick learner, and those idiots actually gave him his Kaiser Dist XX model for backup firepower. He's just finishing up dealing with one machine now - though half his attention was on the battlefield.]

Had being the word to notice. Much like the previous day, she found herself suddenly out on the battlefield. This time it was easier to orient herself, and she started to head back for the secure sector almost immediately.

The telltale sound of metal and machinery caused her to look around a bit more carefully...and there was Saphir!

And between her and Saphir was a small group of Third Party members, advancing with weapons drawn]

[It isn't a large group their escorting, this time-- but even Ginko can tell the tone of the battlefield has shifted. There's something more urgent about neighboring struggles...]

[It's a tone Sanji's caught on to as well - which might explain his abrupt and brisk-like business, that kicks down anything in his way and heavily suggests they not get back up. Only women are spared. One lady of the Third Party has been trying to hit him for some time, as a result, marked frustration starting to bristle her features into something ugly each time Sanji just bends out of the way.

He'd apologize for ducking the one moment an accomplice of hers rushes forward to catch him from behind, sending both heavily winged ladies crashing into a wall somewhere, but he doesn't stop to check with a group and Ginko to protect.

And besides... The enemies, he notes with a critical eye, are growing in numbers.]
