New Year's brings images of crowds, and songs, and fireworks; staying up til midnight and watching balls or bells being rung. But Luceti is a different time and place. Whether you're partying with friends or watching the sunrise, what are you doing today?

[Having heard about the party over the journals, Ven made a quick decision to attend! However, he wasn't about to leave his housemates all alone.

So, he'll be entering the party with both Riku Replica (personafalsify) and Data-Riku (encryptedpages). Were they dragged against their will? Or at least persuaded in some way or form?

It's more likely than you think. And it's Ven's goal to help the boys make new friends! So come one, come all, and watch as Ven leads the silver-haired duo around like a sheepdog. They might go do things on their own, too, so it's entirely possible to catch Ven alone.]

First New Years in Luceti. Compared to New Years in New Yoek City, it's a lot more quiet. Despite the cold Leo's out watching the festivities. He'll mostly stick to the edges of the crowds, but he'll probably forgoe that for people he knows.

Shell, it's hard to believe that he's been here nearly a year. Where did the time go?

Robert stands next to Leo for a moment, using his body to block some of the cold that he knows has to be soaking into Leo's ectothermic body. He glances over to the turtle, smiling gently and watching the lights play off his face and flicker across his own glasses' lenses.

It's not something he's used to on Terra, that's for sure.

[Colours! Food! Music! This is the best party ever! Little Yotsuba wants to see everything there is to see and do everything there is to do on this new years. A pretty big feat for someone so small, but she fully believes she can accomplish it! Grab some food, watch the fireworks, dance for a moment, repeat.

...Though this new years party might be just a little past a certain someone's bed time. She's determined to stay up along with everyone else despite how tired she might be feeling!]

[When the night seems like it's almost done, and Miyabi's had her fill of food, drink, music, and fun with her closest friends and family, she hastily bids them farewell and makes a mad dash back to Amaterasu's cherry tree on the hill. Why is she in such a rush? Well...Miyabi has a surprise for you, Luceti! What new year would be complete without some fireworks, hm? Not a one, at least not for her. And, it just so happens, one of Miyabi's brush skills can create fire works from thin air, with a flick of her brush.

The ones she makes, though, are lots smaller than the usual ones for fighting, and as Miyabi dumps the rounded explosives into the firing tubes, lighting them with some matches (and Eferin's magic when she runs out), she grins from ear to ear. She can't see the flurry of beautiful color the fireworks make, but that's fine. There's only a week or so left. Just a week or so...and she wants her precious ones to enjoy this display. And she's happy with just that.

Sitting under the largest cherry tree, as the fireworks explode in the sky up above, Miyabi raises a bottle of sake that she got from the bar, pours a dish of it, and raises it high into the air.]

[It's actually about midnight when Haruhi's making her way to the tree. Well. A little after - she's planning to have this count as her first shrine visit, if you want context. What this means is that she sees the fireworks en route and comes up to the hill at somewhere a few minutes after midnight. Yep]

[So many people. So many people. He's just taking up space, making things more crowded, it's not like anyone wants to talk to him, it's not like this celebration really matters to someone in his situation...

...but, it does. He can be here to see the New Year. Dead back home, could die again at any second, but he has the chance here and now to welcome the new year like a normal person.

That's important.

Giles will be sticking close to Ginia for a good bit of the night. The same is true for Helios - after finally reaching an understanding, that is.

But still, you might find him wandering about tonight - trying to stay out of the way if he's moving, or sitting and watching the fireworks with a peaceful expression if he's not.]

[It's a mark of how much Giles' refusal to see her has affected her that Grune actually hesitates before approaching him. Jay had suggested she leave Giles alone for a little while until he felt better...but he must be better by now. He has to be.

One piece of mercy for Giles tonight? She isn't wearing his necklace. Instead, around her neck is the pendant Frederic gave her for Christmas. It seemed as though it went a little better with the dress, and...she wants to remember him. It's been barely any time at all since he left, but already she misses him.]

[Yuri isn't really the partying kind of guy, but since the rest of his housemates went, he does end up making a brief appearance at the village square - his dog, Repede, walking along side him. He'll only be having a few drinks and trying to keep to himself for the short while he's there, though. Once the fireworks start, he'll be leaving.

... But he won't be going far, as his house is fairly close to the village square. So, during the fireworks, Yuri can be seen sitting up on the roof of House #12, watching them from there. The ladder he used to get up there will still be lying against the side of the house, so anyone is free to join him up there.]

[Sheena's not a huge partier either. Once she spots that ladder, she'll quietly join Yuri on the roof.]

[Out by the smithy, Sokka is letting off some floating lanterns. He had made some prototypes for that Flynn guy, but after he vanished, they were just taking up space. So now seemed as good as any time to let them off in the sky, what with all the celebrations. After watching them float off in the sky, he can start to appreciate why that guy wanted to use them to impress his girlfriend so much. Neat.

After running out of those and midnight has passed, he'll pop his head into Good Spirits or Seventh Heaven (at different times!) to see what's going on there. And you know, see if he can't procure a post-midnight snack.]

[Sup, Kurt is up on a roof at his house, just watching his fellow mutants do their work up in the sky. Of course, he doesn't have much to add with his powers, so he just gets to chill. Friends and housemates won't have trouble finding him. This is a favorite hangout for him, after all. In fact, he probably insisted on people joining him there. The roof is tilted towards the plaza just perfectly for it. You don't get a view better than this one.]

[Grune is just about everywhere that evening, and House 49 is no exception. Dressed in a warm coat and a fancy dress, she's quite clearly having a wonderful time--but that doesn't mean she's too busy to wave at the small boy who had visited her cocoa and cookie stand a while ago.]

[ Run into him? Sure thing. Firo's dashing through the crowds, because why walk when you can run? The answer is, obviously, so you don't run into people. And that's exactly what Firo is about to do, crashing right into Yeager unless he's quick enough to get out of the way. ]

[To be honest... Richard is glad this year is over. It hasn't been a good one for him with everything that's happened (though there have been some definite pluses, he won't deny that much) and he just wants to get it out of his mind and into the past. Maybe, just maybe, this new year will be a start to something better. He's not sure how much he believes that, but he can hope, right?

Still, he's not going to face the start of a new year without proper preparations, which means he'll be spending the evening in Good Spirits and Seventh Heaven enjoying a few (or perhaps more than a few) drinks. Anyone is free to say hello to him there!

Later on in the evening will find him standing on the bridge nearest to House 28, just watching the fireworks silently. He isn't looking for company, but if anyone approaches, he isn't going to turn them away.]

[ It's not that Falkner's aiming to be antisocial; the crowds and the fireworks and everything else just aren't his thing. He's used to greeting the year in a quieter manner, by himself or with his father. After years and years that's what he prefers.

But still... Luceti's a new place, and habits can change, right? With his Noctowl perched on his shoulder he wanders around the village quietly, half-focused on his surroundings and half in his own head. Luckily the bird is keeping watch and will cry out if he nearly bumps into somebody. ]

Her fingers twitch with every explosion. She reminds herself that all of these explosions are too high-pitched and unevenly paced to be firearm detonations. There are no Covenant forces to fire them against.

It's going to be a year. She is not in Harvest. She will never return to Harvest.]

[Haruhi had ambitiously decided that she was well enough to see the day when it was the Eve of the New Year (unlike Hiccup's holiday, which she wanted to attend but was too ill at the time for). Sure the New Year is pretty pointless in Luceti given the cycle changes a few months earlier, but the symbolism never fails to hit her, nor does the need to go to a shrine or something. Which is why around midnight burled up in a lot of coats she's trying to make the treck to what she figures is the closest thing to a shrine in Luceti, the trees on Amaterasu's hill.

Thing is, it's midnight and she's only barely recovered from being sick, so once she gets there despite the cold, she's going to nod off against one of the trees. Encounter her en-route or at the place, dozed off in a bundle of coats]

[Her homesickness has ended (or at least her unfair level of anger about it), her wing's gone down to a very dull pain despite still having the silver piercing in her left wing, and she got numerous gifts for Christmas despite not even... well. She did it for Azu. She's wearing one of them (the orange bracelet with small red stones all around it in a row She got for Secret Santa) now. She's looking at it, wondering how it would help her.

And she's still not seen Harth.

It's a conflicted but sort of contented feeling she's got during the Evening as she walks around, watching everyone else get into the New Years spirit. So she'll sort of skirt around, seeing what's what]

[ Spada doesn't have a problem staying up for the new year, and he doesn't have a problem with celebrations, either. He'll be about and around for some time, maybe with a drink or two (nothing past tipsy, and barely that), watching the fireworks and engaging with people he semi-recognizes (and some he doesn't).

When the fireworks really become the main event and not a sidethought of celebration, he might check up on one Nagisa and assist her in seeing the lights if she feels up to it, so he can be caught alone or with her. ]

Grune doesn't often go to Seventh Heaven, but tonight, you couldn't keep her away. She loves parties and she loves spending time with her friends, and so this is one event she's not going to miss (even if, due to her inability to keep track of time, she isn't exactly sure what's being celebrated right now).

She'll be talking to just about everyone, friends and strangers alike. And if she sees anyone on the edge of things? Well, they'll have at least one conversation partner that night.

[Grune looks very pretty tonight, so while Yeager's chilling in Seventh Heaven he'll take the opportunity to approach her with a friendly smile on his face.]

[The year's been good to Luca - although the feeling of time is weird for him, considering Naraka's not exactly on the same time table as Luceti is - and he's been relatively happy the last two times he can recall being around -- and being around for longer than a month this time and meeting new people has been pretty exciting, too. He'll be in the square tonight (might have a drink in his hands, but only one and it's something pretty weak), staying away from any party-goers that might be around. He's decided to, for once, try and strike out on his own instead of following Iria or Spada around...

...it's a shame he generally sucks at social events. Mind chumming it up a little? He'll be around all night, bundled up in two layers of (black) coats and a pair of gloves - and, if you're lucky, you'll catch him standing on the fountain's edge to smile up at the fireworks when they start up.]

[Keimi leans back in her wheelchair, her eyes never leaving the sky. This sight is amazing. All the sound! And lights! It's nothing at all like the celebrations on Fishman Island, and all the festivities around her brings her back to her childhood, staring in wonder at the human-made lights shining in the distance on Shabaody. Her smile is small, but filled with wonder. Slowly, she was beginning to remember why she was so intrigued by humans in the first place.

She squirms lightly, finding a comfy spot under her blanket, her eyes fixed on the explosions in the sky.]

[Daisy looks for friends as well, but for a different reason. While she guessed in her early childhood she would have had the same fascination for fireworks, now they made her uncomfortable. A part of her doesn't want to bother anyone, and another wants to simply hide until it all blows over.

But she seeks for company in a time like this, and finds Keimi. In spite of all she is feeling now, remembering the evening they spent curled up together inside blankets makes her smile on the inside.]

[Daisy is still concerned about her size. She is big. And hopes her blanket may be as well.]

[Strapping on her green and orange party hat and setting out into the plaza, Fuuko is ready to party! Or mingle around, eating a little food and talking with a few friends. That works too. She's open to talking to anyone who might come up to her, especially if they're interested in the number of party hats she decided to bring with her. What's a party with out party hats after all. They're very special and unique items! Get your own party hat before some weird guy does!

Once the fireworks start going off, Fuuko will find a bench somewhere to sit down and watch them. They're all very pretty, but of course the ones that explode in a more star-like pattern are much more appealing than the rest.]

[Leon yawns as he looks up at the night sky. A clear day at last, and just in time to ring in the new Gregorian calendar year. ...Not that it was necessarily a good thing, being stuck in Luceti for another year.

He adjusts his earmuffs and sits alone in the plaza with a mug of hot chocolate. Of all the nights to have trouble staying up, it's the one night where staying up until midnight is the entire point of celebrating. Figures.]

[A New Year is something to celebrate. Especially when by all logical considerations, you shouldn't even be able to celebrate one. But he isn't going to stop and think about that now. It's a very special evening and he's going to spend it with his very special someone.

It may just be a quiet evening at home, but that's perfectly alright with him! Once Elicia is tucked away in bed, he'll set out on a grand search of the house for Gracia. Has he got a surprise for you!]

[She won't be that hard to find. Putting Elicia to sleep first, and hopefully the whole night through in her own bed, is a big step for them. Even though the chances are good that Elicia will wake during the night and come in, at least she was willing to lay down by herself.
