What: Fighting Third Party
When: 26th, 27th, 28th, 1st, and 2nd
Where: The Southern Farmlands
Summary: See here for overall details.
Rating: Probably gonna be gorey in places :|a

DOESN'T NEED A CUT. People should know how this works, if not, just follow other people's lead. I'm gonna set up some strategist threads at the top, for the four strategists to use if they want to, otherwise people should start their own threads.

[Jack be nimble, Jack be quick, Jack pumped a dozen rounds into a flying soldier and watched him fall out of the sky. Stepping through the battlefield like a souped up Rambo armed with two machine guns, Jack may be enjoying this battle a little too much. He's never fought in a war where he had such a significant advantage and little worry of his own death.]

[A fifty foot tall Bowser is stalking through the Third Party lines, using his massive flamethrower of a mouth to mow down the enemies. Although he may be able to take on several at once, these TP guys are taking to swarming him and are being a real pain to swat away. Believe it or not, he could actually use assistance.]

Day 1-ish (sometime early on anyway!), frontlines

[Although a lot of feelings of dread and doom were lingering before, now that the anticipation is over, Kain can focus on fighting like he's supposed to.]

[He's sure to warn Rydia back when it looks like it's needed, so that he can keep focused on the offensive without her being too at risk. With the dragoon boots and gauntlets he's able to do a lot better this time around as well.]

[He leaps, lunges and stabs at the enemies in his path, cutting through them with an unrelenting fury. ...perhaps it's also an act of revenge for last time as well.]

[On an isolated part of the battlefield, there's a rather strange "battle" going on. A single girl is standing in front of a group of third-party members, outnumbered. For a few moments, they seem frozen in place.]

[And then they start to scream.]

[Some collapse to their knees, eyes seemingly locked on the girl as a strange silvery fog begins to resonate around them. Eventually, their screams go silent and their bodies fall lifelessly to the ground. The silver fog swirls around the girl for a few moments before she outstretches her arms, absorbing it. It's over in minutes.]

[And yet despite the scene, she seems rather calm. When she eventually turns around, her eyes are closed and her expression is blank. Somehow, even though she doesn't seem to be injured, her dress is torn and covered in blood.]

[ooc: Cheyenne's powers will cause anyone who gets within 20 feet of her to have chills and start feeling more anxious or stressed out than they would normally be on the battlefield, unless you think they'd be powerful enough to be immune. Touching her will cause negative effects regardless.]

[Like in previous drafts Yuber actually requested his old black plate mail (http://l-userpic.livejournal.com/99049477/23591872) before coming out to the field. With someone like Moro here, he'd be damned if he let her easily use him as a chew toy.

Anyone who happens to catch a glimpse of the demon on the field will likely see some creepy looking demonic monsters not too far away.

Basically, he's not taking any chances that Moro is going to play nice and is fully prepared to attempt to kill her too if needed. But otherwise he's taking down Third Party soldiers like it's no trouble. Even the Shifters don't bother him much from what can be seen.]

...Anywhere, actually. 8| Day one.

[When Noel was transported into the area, she didn't know which area she was dropped off to. For a while? She's been hopelessly lost, but hasn't ran into any of the enemy by some turn of fate.

For the time being, a field of cows has been distracting her. All of Noel's attention has now been dedicated to this.

She had no idea there were animals here...

ooc: I don't mind whether a fight with the Shifters start up or not in threads. \o Bring it onnn.]

And on the second day, there was a waver.

[identity profile] mikangirl.livejournal.com 2011-02-27 04:44 am (UTC)(link)
[Cutting a path between fields and trying to avoid attention from the Third Party, there is one Nami on her waver (http://media.animevice.com/uploads/0/4479/142770-010_thumb.jpg) making as smooth a ride as possible back to the defensive zone.

This might be because she's carrying a passenger currently clinging to her waist who probably wouldn't appreciate her usual tricks. Sayo turned up in the wrong area, and Nami's getting her back somewhere safe, her long hair carefully wound in a knot to avoid it slapping into Sayo's face.

So far, so good. How you doing back there, Sayo? |Da]

[For the most part, Terra remains with the offensive front. She'll heal those who need it but focuses her strength and attention on devastating magic, working on those enemies who aren't immune to her talents. When it comes to stronger forces, she can still be useful as a soldier and so will guard those whose primary strengths aren't physical. She's an efficient fighter even as she doesn't particularly revel in combat; whatever can be done to disable as many enemies as possible, she'll manage. Of course, all this while, she'll keep an eye out for friends and anyone who might need her help.]

[Homura eagerly throws himself into the battle, with a single caveat; from time to time, when he moves on to a new group of enemies, anyone close enough might hear him offer them a chance to leave with their lives.

Once the Third Party approaches, however, the demi-god wields his sword without mercy, moving with strength and speed far beyond ordinary mortals. His abilities to teleport and create flame are all but completely unfettered, and even with the chain still binding his wrists, Homura will appear to have little difficulty even when severely outnumbered. These are the sorts of battles he's fought for centuries, after all. The primary difficulty he faces are accounting for his wings: they create a vulnerability Homura has yet to fully account for.]

[It's a surprise to be thrown into battle to find out that he can't see a damn thing. In an instant, the world goes black and he grits his teeth, tightens his hand on the blade and focuses his attention, trying to make up for the handicap he seems to have appeared with.

His other hand goes out to the side with a quiet murmur of Rikaku's name, and he feels Rokuta's shirei's reassuring presence. Whatever was happening here, he knew, at least, that he had Rikaku to cover him at his most vulnerable.

His blade sings as he slices at the enemies though its clear from his movements that Shouryuu's not at his best. Rikaku's at his side, doing what he can, but they could probably use any help anyone might be able to provide.]

[On the first day, Ian found himself in a tight spot. He felt a strange nauseous feeling upon entering the battlefield, but soon after he'd found himself in a more cruel predicament—upon trying to move his arms, he'd found that they refused. His legs... his torso, everything else, moved just fine.

Just his damn arms.

Fortunately he's managed to keep the pack slung around his shoulder, dangling at his hip, in case anyone needed medicine. But otherwise? He'll just be ducking around and hiding as much as he can. It's a good thing he's fantastic at running and screaming like a baby.

As seen while he's RUNNING FOR HIS LIFE FROM AN ANGEL.]

[So it turns out being struck blind on day one is not a good way to start a draft. And it's set the stage for Sanji's mood, following whatever is to come.

First starting with the defense post, but gradually sneaking off to offensive as needed. He's not exceedingly cruel in his movements, but there's a lack of remorse in every hit that connects. Most don't get up when he strikes them down the first time, and for the ones that do?... Well, it's a toss up if they're alive after the second hit. Sanji doesn't check; just moves on.

Nothing personal, Third Party. Just business. And Sanji's got steam to blow off]

[There will be a Voice message filtered to the participants of the battle.]

This is Yellow 13 to all Allied forces. I'm on station to provide air support on the battlefield. Call out location and targets for strikes and I'll be there. Don't wait to call when it's too late. If you need help from the sky, request support sooner rather than later.

[Action]

[For those on the ground, there is a large fighter aircraft (http://gallery.top-aviation.net/albums/userpics/10009/AC4_SU37.jpg) streaking through the sky. In its wake are often the bloody messes of what were once flying Third Party mooks. ...It is rather terrifying to see what a 30 millimeter autocannon will do to them.

Either way, feel free to notice that this machine is taking the fight to the Third Party surprisingly well. It'll occasionally swoop down and shoot at targets on the ground, or drop the occasional bomb or missile at what can be presumed to be Elites. And at certain times, particularly hawk-eyed individuals may notice a certain [livejournal.com profile] awakenedchaos riding on the plane itself, swatting away foes that get too close...]

[Fighting the elites was no problem for Saber, as she quickly cut through any one that came close to her. Her sword was glowing a golden light as she did so, revealing the sword in it's actual length. If the glow would release the sword itself would be visible, but she only did such a thing when she was unleashing her full power. Even for a battle like this it did not seem necessary to do that yet.

Unlike those she may have sparred with before, Saber is giving her all out power and not showing any mercy towards the enemy fighters. Even if they are noticeably bigger than her (she is only a little above five feet tall) it does not seem like she has any problems with fighting them back for the time being.]

Any time, all over the place

[There's a steady stream of gunfire as Vincent shoots down the enemy in his path. He's intense and focused on taking them down, letting nothing get close enough to hinder his abilities. So far anyway.]

[This time around he's got a better handle on keeping the monsters within controlled. They're not at their most stable out here... but he's managing.]

[personal profile] analyzing 2011-02-27 05:16 pm (UTC)(link)
[Each time she's due for a shift, Rise will hang back with the non-combatants crowd at her designated drop-off point (should there be any), monitoring the area and everyone's movements until she's sure that they're at the safe zone before she heads there herself- hopefully with an escort. After that, her work will be mundanely routine- watching movement around the Distribution Centre inclusive of any Third Party soldiers that intrude the established defensive perimeter.

Basically? She'll be watching you.]

[It won't be very often that you can stop Moro to talk to her. She'll be in the thick of battle, devouring the enemies, flinging them away as if they were limp ragdolls, or just pursuing retreating armies, sprinting at full speed.

You may, however, experience Moro leaping in front of you to crunch an enemy that may or may not have had you in its sights.]

[personal profile] herotypical 2011-02-27 05:43 pm (UTC)(link)
[ this is her element. buffy summers spends much of the five day battle covered in plenty of blood and most of it is not her own. when she isn't slicing-and-dicing with her favoured scythe, she is picking off enemies at a distance with carefully aimed crossbow bolts. so long as she remains out of the way of the shifters, she does her work efficiently and successfully.

[The initial blindness had left the samurai in a short panic before that wave of cool, serene battle calm washed over him. A piece of cloth had been tied hastily about his eyes and his torn right sleeve showed evidence of the rag's source. Even with the chaos of the battle ensuing around him, Jack was awake in that bitter friend of every samurai, of bloodshed, combat, and striving for life and dodging death. His ears were sharp and his nostrils flared as he sniffed at the air for changes, his sandals discarded by the wayside to better feel the terrain beneath his feet.

Slices had long since torn through portions of his clothes, little lines of blood seeping out of shallow cuts. The soldiers bearing bladed weapons feel easily and in droves as they came at the samurai, his hair billowing freely behind him like a blackened mane. The blade served its duty well, slicing cleaning through opponents and bathing itself in hot blood. He hated to take lives when he had a choice, but in a war such as this, Jack knew all too well that death would follow his wake.]

[ Hughes will be all over the place, more or less, as he aims to make his way to any place that looks like it's in need of a helping hand. The flying and Shifting are very new aspects to it (be a great day to have some alchemists around, man), but this still isn't his first rodeo, and his general attitude will be a quiet, resigned one as he fights. He isn't cruel when it comes to killing any enemies (a few quick bullets or a well-aimed knife, something fast and hopefully not unbearably painful), but he isn't hesitant about doing it, either.

If you don't make sure they won't get back up, they're bound to do so. And there are too many people at stake for that kind of nonsense.

...of course, if you happen to catch him on Day One, he'll be doing so with a much less calm expression for some odd reason. Could have to do with the fact that he's turned a bright lime green and feels like crap, I don't know. ]
